Researches monogenic diabetes and broader aspects of differential diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. Her scientific activity has focused mainly on the occurrence of specific islet autoantibodies in MODY patients, which has contributed to a change in the diagnostic approach in the detection of MODY patients within the international community; she has also scientifically investigated the nature of hypersensitivity in individuals with HNF1A-MODY and HNF4A-MODY to sulfonylurea derivatives, for the possibility of individualized approach and personalization of pharmacotherapy in these patients. He has also been consistently focusing on hypoglycaemia, now especially in the context of new modern technologies in diabetes. She is also actively involved in the education of patients with diabetes, including co-authoring the Your Guide to Diabetes project, which includes a number of books and educational materials used to educate patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
