Project Narrative:
Animal models are used in neuropathic pain research. Most frequently used method of pain evaluation is detection of evoked hyperalgesia/allodynia. However, it is still not clear how to evaluate spontaneous pain and which parameters beside pain might play a significant role. Therefore the PhD research will be focused on pain evaluation and treatment in laboratory animals. The student will gain skills in laboratory rat handling, surgical technique for induction of neuropathic pain, and behavioral methods.
