Project Narrative: |
Project Narrative: (max. 500 characters including spaces): The project aims to elucidate the mechanisms by which a tumor cell overcomes nutrient deficiency during tumor progression and to find solutions allowing to prevent tumors from using alternative metabolic pathways. We use a model of high-grade serous ovarian cancer, which is still a difficult disease to treat. The project includes work on cell lines, isolates from patients and mouse xenografts and is based on the use of genetic and protein engineering approaches. |
Requirements for student applicants: |
Requirements for student applicants: (specify your requirements such as degrees or period after degree was granted) We are looking for motivated and creative doctoral students interested in biomedical research, who would like to study the metabolism of tumor tissues using genetic and protein engineering tools (CRISPR/Cas9, CRISPRi), and biochemical and molecular biological methods. We expect enthusiasm and an active approach. The workplace is able to ensure an increase in regular scholarships and offers a part-time work contract. We offer a scientifically attractive topic under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff, support in career development, the opportunity to present the results at foreign conferences and carry out internships abroad. |
