Project Narrative:

The research is focused on non-traditional risk factors of atherosclerosis associated cardiovascular diseases, e.g. high body iron stores, autoimmune diseases or oncology therapy. Student will perform ultrasound assessment of atherosclerosis progression in e.g.carotid arteries and evaluate plasma markers of inflammation, oxidatiove stress, endothelial dysfunction etc. The clinical data will be amended by in vitro experiments.

Doctor of Medicine
