Project Narrative: |
The project aims to elucidate the mechanisms by which a tumor cell overcomes nutrient deficiency during tumor progression and to find solutions allowing to prevent tumors from using alternative metabolic pathways. We use a model of high-grade serous ovarian cancer, which is still a difficult disease to treat. The project includes work on cell lines, isolates from patients and mouse xenografts and is based on the use of genetic and protein engineering approaches. |
Requirements for student applicants: |
We are looking for motivated and creative doctoral students interested in biomedical research, who would like to study the metabolism of tumor tissues using genetic and protein engineering tools (CRISPR/Cas9, CRISPRi), and biochemical and molecular biological methods. We expect enthusiasm and an active approach. The workplace is able to ensure an increase in regular scholarships and offers a part-time work contract. We offer a scientifically attractive topic under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff, support in career development, the opportunity to present the results at foreign conferences and carry out internships abroad. |
