Students of physiotherapy wrote us: "In March, we had the opportunity to attend the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) in the university city of Ghent, Belgium. The event was conceived to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in pediatric rehabilitation. During the 2 week long internship, we were assigned to international teams with colleagues from different fields. We got a chance to work with pediatric patients, consulting and helping them create rehabilitation plans. A big part of the event was the great selection of lectures on various topics, such as neuroplasticity, infant treatment, or approaches to child cerebral palsy care. The sessions were followed by insightful workshops, where attendees got to try their hands at the Sherborne method, cerebral palsy treatment techniques, or even a few ´circus acts´ applicable in rehabilitation programs. Overall, the program was a great experience. We have not only gained so much new knowledge but also got to first hand relate and compare the state physiotherapy in the Czech Republic, Belgium and other European countries.
Naturally, during break times, we could not pass the chance to try Belgian waffles, fries, and the famous Ghent sweets Cuberdons. The weekend off was spent exploring the nearby Belgian towns, visiting the seaside, and even a short excursion to Holland.
Thank you 3FM CU for giving us this great opportunity. We hope to put everything we have learned into practice as soon as possible!"
