On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, this year's Student Research Conference was held at our faculty. Due to the improvement of the epidemiological situation, the conference was organized in hybrid form. The face-to-face part was comprised of presentations divided into several sections, as well as guest lecturers.
The events of the whole day were broadcasted live for people who could not participate in person by two simultaneous streams by organizing committee members from Trimed Visual.
Visitors could (and still can) view over 50 student presentations in our special app – so far, the app has been used by 1026 visitors from 17 countries all around the world. Visitors can also evaluate the presentations or ask the authors further questions. You can find the web app at svk.trimed.cz.

The Student Research Conference of the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University will take place on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Due to the current situation, part of this year's conference is planned online and part in full-time form. Traditionally, it will consist of lecture and poster sections. To improve the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the presentation of lectures will take place in full-time form on the premises of the faculty. If this won't be possible, it will take place online. The presentation of the posters will take place online in the form of pre-recorded videos, which will then be placed in the SRC 2021 application.
An independent expert commission will decide on the division of contributions into sections. The system for inserting abstracts will open on March 1, 2021 on the SRC website (svk.lf3.cuni.cz). In order to be able to divide the contributions into individual sections, no contributions will be accepted after the deadline for the submission of the abstract, which is set for April 11, 2021.
Whoever does not submit the abstract by this deadline, will not be allowed to participate in SRC 2021 and will therefore not receive credit for enrolled SVA!
The form of SRC 2021 will still be greatly influenced by the situation around COVID-19, but thanks to the more favorable development of the pandemic situation, this year we are able to organise a Student Research Conference at least partially in person.
The lecture section will take place with the participants, or their supervisors and members of the evaluation committee on Tuesday, May 25th, on the premises of the faculty under strict hygienic measures and will therefore be inaccessible to the public. However, you don’t have to worry about being deprived of presentations of participants' work, as they will be streamed online. If you’re not able to watch the stream, you can then find its recording in the SRC 2021 web application.
The poster section will take place in the form of pre-recorded videos of participants' works, which will be inserted into the SRC 2021 application. After the conference itself (i.e. May 25th - May 30th, 2021) under the supervision of the members of evaluation committees, these outputs will be evaluated not only on the basis of the poster itself and its implementation, but also on the basis of answers to questions from individual evaluators within our web application. It is therefore in the self-interest of all participants to continuously check their own contributions and answer questions immediately.
In the application, it will be possible to watch the recordings of the lecture and poster sections, evaluate them during the voting and, last but not least, ask any questions.
We have yet to inform you about the exact date and form of the announcement of the conference results. So far, an external announcement is planned in the possible presence of all active participants, the Dean and the organizers of SRC. However, everything depends on the current pandemic situation.
