Students of the 5th year Adéla Černá a Martin Bokůvka wrote us: “This summer, we spent 5 weeks volunteering at the Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity in Uganda financed by the Mobility and Internationalisation Funds. Apart from learning about the local culture, we got an opportunity to study medicine in the tropics, where malaria diagnoses, sickle-cell disease, measles and tetanus are a much more common occurrence than back home. One of the many great moments was a chance to observe a C-section delivery of quadruplets. The local staff was extremely friendly, always ready to answer our numerous questions, even letting us practice some procedures first-hand. The whole trip was unforgettable and one heck of a life experience.”
