„Thanks to the IFMSA and Mobility Foundation, I had an opportunity to take up an internship at Fu Jen University in Taiwan this past June,” wrote us student of the 5th year Hana Petkova. “The month-long journey was full of unforgettable experiences, both in the hospital and outside. The quality of medical care in Taiwan is top-notch - even with my already high expectations, I was still amazed upon arrival.

Benjamin Špányi, one of our 6th-year students, is writing us from Oxford: “Thank you 3LF and Charles University for the support and funding from the Internationalization Fond and Mobility Fond which allowed me to apply for the Oxford Clinical Elective Programme, held by the University of Oxford in the UK. I spent 2 months at the cardiology clinic at Oxford Heart Centre of John Radcliffe Hospital.

On Thursday July 18th at Karolinum, after 5 graduation ceremonies, we were honored to welcome over 200 new graduates and our new colleagues At least one fifth were international students who will return to their families and start their medical career in their home countries. Nonetheless, most graduates will be staying at clinics and institutions across Czechia. All fresh graduates were undoubtedly very proud of receiving their own General Medicine diploma.

The Student Research Conference of the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Traditionally, it will consist of lecture and poster sections. An expert commission will decide on the division of contributions into sections. The system for inserting abstracts is currently open on svk.lf3.cuni.cz/abstrakt. Deadline for the submission of the abstract is set for March 31, 2024.

Dear colleagues, dear staff and students, I would like to wish you all the best for the New Year 2024. I firmly believe that it will be a successful year for both students and staff. The end of 2023 was marked by two sad events that affected all members of the academic community. Both events showed the great cohesion of students and teachers – in fact the entire academic community of our alma mater, but not only it - also the cohesion of all people in this beautifull country.
