International Student Congress of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery
It’s with pleasure that we can present the International Student Congress of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (ISC-PRAS), which will take place on March 21–22, 2025, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The aim of the congress is to present the work of a plastic surgeon in four key ares of PRAS. Thus, four lecture tracks will be presented: reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, surgery of the hand, and treatment of burns. Lectures will be delivered by renowned PRAS surgeons working at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana.
Besides lectures, the following hand-on practical workshops will be organized:
• Beginner workshops: introduction to surgical suturing, surgical gowning, workshop of surgical microscopy and laparoscopy, and burn treatment scenario
• Advanced workshops (on porcine trotters and porcine vessels): intradermal suture technique, »V« excision with subsequent layered repair of the defect, tendon suturing, technique of a basic transposition flap, vessel anastomosis suturing
• An additional standalone workshop of applied surgical anatomy of a human hand and forearm, featuring the dissection of a human hand and forearm by a PRAS surgeon, who will explain the relevant anatomy during the procedure.
With 190 applicants already registered, ISC-PRAS 2025 is on track to become the largest medical student congress ever held in Slovenia. We are eager to expand international participation and welcome colleagues from around the world.
