The Laboratory for metabolism and bioenergetics offers two postgraduate positions under the supervision of Dr. Jan Trnka, PhD, a graduate of the University of Cambridge. Trnka’s lab focusses on the research of mitochondrial function and dysfunction and their ties to human health and disease. The topic for the doctoral theses will be the effect of selected medications and environmental toxins on mitochondrial function..
Requirements for student applicants:
Applicants should be graduates of biological, pharmaceutical or medical programmes, previous research experience would be an advantage. Due to the international composition of the lab team we expect a communication knowledge of English. We can offer to supplement standard scholarships and/or part-time employment contracts.
